XVI
2016 seemed to be a year when all our childhood (and adult) icons were cruelly taken away from us in one fell swoop. David Bowie, Carrie Fisher, George Michael, Prince, Muhammad Ali.. the list went on.
As tribute, “XVI” is a collection of original portraits celebrating some of the legends that we lost that year. I use my traditional methods of collage, acrylic and pastel, but with these artworks I have introduced golds and reds to emphasis the images, reflecting their adolation in popular culture.
